About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Cosmetic Frontshop Assistant to join our team at the Table Bay store in Cape Town. As a key member of our retail team, you will be responsible for maintaining high merchandising standards, providing excellent customer service, and supporting sales growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure full ranges of products are always on the shelves and neatly presented.
- Maintain stock levels to ensure products have not reached their sell-by date.
- Restock merchandise as needed to maximize sales.
- Be responsible for accurate cash flow.
- Approve and sign off line voids and price changes with a supervisor.
- Exchange merchandise for customers and accept return goods when authorized.
- Transact all purchases, including receiving and processing payments such as cash, cards, vouchers, coupons, and other accepted payments.
- Store and pack delivered stock or stock pulled from the storeroom in the correct space immediately.
- Ensure stock on shelves has not reached sell-by dates.
- Provide friendly, helpful, and courteous assistance and advice to all customers.
- Follow up with customer service out of stock list for all out-of-stock queries from customers.
- Ensure cash is placed in the drop safe according to Dis-Chem standard operating procedures.
- Verify all payments according to Dis-Chem verification procedure.
- Adhere to Dis-Chem security policies and procedures.
- Use code and password securely, changing it regularly.
- Scan and pay for outgoing stock/items.
Requirements
- Minimum of 0 – 6 months retail experience
- Minimum 1 year experience within retail environment in Cosmetics
- Computer literate MS Office
Qualifications
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Certification in Retail or related field (advantageous)
