About the Role

National Hotel Group requires an Internal Audit, Risk and Compliance Manager to safeguard Group assets, ensure financial integrity, and optimize operational efficiency across a national portfolio of hotels, resorts, and head office functions. The successful candidate will lead a risk-based audit strategy, provide strategic counsel on internal controls, and maintain a robust control environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive 3-year rolling Internal Audit Plan and an annual risk-based operational plan.
  • Lead the end-to-end audit cycle including planning, scoping, fieldwork, and reporting for all hotels, resorts, and head office functions.
  • Ensure all audit activities align with the International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF) and South African auditing standards.
  • Provide independent assurance and strategic counsel to the Board regarding the effectiveness of the control environment and governance frameworks.

Requirements

  • Degree in Internal Auditing, Accounting, or Risk Management preferred
  • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Chartered Accountant CA (SA) preferred
  • Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or a postgraduate qualification in Risk Management is highly advantageous

  • Documented reduction in unexplained stock losses and revenue discrepancies across F&B and Rooms divisions.
  • Identification of cost-saving opportunities or process inefficiencies with a clear financial impact report for the Board.
  • Average time taken from the conclusion of fieldwork to the issuance of the final, signed-off report to the Audit Committee.
