About the Role

Network Finance, a leading company in Johannesburg East, is seeking a Field Service Technician to join their team. As a key member of our field service team, you will be responsible for providing expert repair services for our technology solutions, delivering unmatched customer satisfaction and upholding the highest standards of safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Report into the Operations Manager.
  • Perform field-based diagnostics, repairs, and routine maintenance on rental equipment.
  • Respond to emergency service calls and troubleshoot equipment issues on-site.
  • Conduct pre-delivery inspections and ensure equipment is functioning properly before deployment.
  • Provide technical support to clients, explaining equipment operation and maintenance requirements as needed.
  • Assist with workshop-based repairs during low field demand periods, as directed.

Requirements

  • Trade certification or technical diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline (e.g. Diesel mechanic, Fitter, Mechanical fitter, Millwright).
  • Proven experience in field service or maintenance, preferably in pumps, diesel engines, or rental equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service instructions.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong customer service mindset with good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in remote or high-pressure environment.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills for service reporting and diagnostic.
  • Valid driver’s license; willingness to travel to customer and field sites as required.
