Job Description
Your mission as the Field Service Engineer is to provide expert repair services for our technology solutions, delivering unmatched customer satisfaction and upholding the highest standards of safety. You are committed to ensuring the performance and longevity of your customers technology through your expertise. You are responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of rental equipment at customer sites and field locations. This hands-on role is vital to ensuring the operational performance, safety, and reliability of equipment in the field, possesses strong technical skills in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, with a customer-focused attitude and a commitment to high safety and service standards.
You will
- Report into the Operations Manager.
- Perform field-based diagnostics, repairs, and routine maintenance on rental equipment
- Respond to emergency service calls and troubleshoot equipment issues on-site.
- Conduct pre-delivery inspections and ensure equipment is functioning properly before deployment
- Provide technical support to clients, explaining equipment operation and maintenance requirements as needed
- Assist with workshop-based repairs during low field demand periods, as directed.
To succeed, you will need
- Trade certification or technical diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline. Diesel mechanic, Fitter, Mechanical fitter, Millwright etc.
- Proven experience in field service or maintenance, preferably in pumps, diesel engines, or rental equipment
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service instructions.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Strong customer service mindset with good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in remote or high-pressure environment
- Proficient in basic computer skills for service reporting and diagnostic
- Valid driver’s license; willingness to travel to customer and field sites as required
