About the Role
Our Global client is looking for a Payment Specialist from the financial services or fintech industry, focusing on the processing and management of payment transactions. The role involves ensuring efficient, secure, and compliant payment operations. This is a Hybrid role.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and execute payment transactions, including electronic funds transfers, credit card payments, and other payment methods.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliation of payment transactions to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Ensure all payment processes comply with local regulations, such as those set by the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) and the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA). Identify and mitigate potential risks in payment processes.
- Provide support to customers and internal teams regarding payment inquiries, issues, and disputes. Ensure timely resolution of payment-related problems.
- Work with payment processing systems and software. Collaborate with IT teams to troubleshoot and optimize payment systems.
- Generate and analyze reports on payment activities, trends, and performance metrics.
- Provide insights and recommendations for process improvements.
Requirements
- Previous experience in payment processing, banking, or a related financial services role is advantageous.
- Familiarity with electronic payment methods and banking platforms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to handle complex payment issues and data analysis.
- Understanding of South African financial regulations and compliance requirements related to payments.
- Familiarity with international payment systems and cross-border transactions can be beneficial.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in finance, Business Administration, or a related field is often preferred. Certifications in payment processing or financial services may be advantageous.
