About the Role

Equate Recruitment is seeking a highly organised and experienced Junior Accountant to join our client’s finance department. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background, with a minimum of five years experience in bookkeeping, accounts payable, or a similar finance role, and prior experience in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Process and verify supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies.
Perform regular reconciliation of accounts and resolve discrepancies.
Manage payment runs, including scheduling, approvals, and processing electronic or manual payments.
Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems.
Assist with month-end and year-end accounts reconciliation and reporting.
Work closely with warehouse and manufacturing teams to confirm completion of jobs, trade, and sundry items.
Close off manufacturing tickets and up.

Requirements

Strong accounting background
Minimum of five years experience in bookkeeping, accounts payable, or a similar finance role
Prior experience in a manufacturing environment
Fluency in Afrikaans is essential for internal communication and liaising with suppliers
