About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Gardener & Maintenance Handyman to join our team in Gordon’s Bay. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of our garden areas, as well as performing general maintenance and repairs across various departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain all garden areas in a neat, clean, and orderly condition
- Perform general maintenance and repairs in public areas, guest rooms, and offices
- Carry out basic plumbing, carpentry, and electrical maintenance duties
- Identify and fix safety hazards
- Assemble furniture and equipment as required
- Liaise with contractors and external service providers
- Work closely with Front Office and Housekeeping regarding maintenance-related matters
- Physically handle and move equipment when required
- Maintain good working relationships with colleagues and all departments
- Report for duty punctually, wearing the correct uniform and name tag
- Comply with company policies and procedures, including Fire, Hygiene, Health & Safety regulations
Requirements
- Grade 12
- A formal qualification (advantageous)
- At least 2-3 years experience in basic maintenance
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, and electrical maintenance
- Ability to operate gardening and maintenance tools safely
- Trustworthy, honest, punctual, and reliable
- Good understanding of the English language
- Presentable and professional appearance
