Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic couple for a senior leadership role at an award-winning Lodge in Tanzania. The successful couple will take full ownership of an exceptional, multi-faceted property that delivers a world-class luxury hospitality experience. We require a balanced partnership where both individuals contribute to operational excellence, guest experience, and team leadership within a remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee full lodge operations including guest experience, rooms division, F&B, wellness, and activities
Lead; mentor, and develop a large, diverse team with a strong focus on staff wellbeing and retention
Drive financial performance including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and CAPEX planning
Oversee procurement, stock control, and supplier relationship
Ensure exceptional service standards and continuous enhancement of the guest experience
Manage sales, marketing, and reservations functions, including agent relationships and brand positioning
Oversee infrastructure maintenance, project management, and operational systems
Ensure compliance with local regulations, licensing, and labour laws
Build strong relationships with local communities, stakeholders, and repeat guests
Drive sustainability initiatives and responsible tourism practices across the property

Requirements

Minimum 5 years experience managing a boutique luxury lodge or similar operation
Relevant tertiary qualification in Hospitality, Tourism, or Business Management
Experience gained in Tanzania is preferred
Strong all-round operational knowledge across rooms division, F&B, and lodge systems
Proven leadership and team development capability within a remote environment

Formal education/certifications (Bachelor’s, LLB, Matric, etc.) not specified

Salary & Benefits

Gross salary: $5,000 – $6,000 per person per month for the couple, based on experience.
