Job Description
Responsibilities:

Patient Assessment and Monitoring: Continuously evaluate patients’ conditions, monitor vital signs, and detect early signs of complications.

Implementation of Care Plans: Develop and execute individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.

Administration of Treatments: Administer medications, manage intravenous lines, and operate life-support systems.

Emergency Response: Act promptly in critical situations to stabilize patients and prevent deterioration.

Family Support and Education: Provide emotional support to patients’ families and educate them about the patient’s condition and care procedures.

Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
Requirements:

Educational Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in nursing (NQF Level 8) or a four-year diploma in nursing (NQF Level 7).
- Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse or General Nurse and Midwife.

Clinical Experience:
- A minimum of two years of post-basic clinical experience in adult critical care settings.

Specialized Training:
- Completion of a Postgraduate Diploma in Critical Care Nursing (Adult) or an equivalent qualification. This program is typically a full-time, one-year specialization offered at NQF Level 8, comprising 120 credits
