Job Description Our client is looking for a skilled Claims Manager to oversee broker and partner portfolios, ensuring efficient claims management and strong operational and financial controls. The role involves implementing claims processes, providing technical guidance, and managing complex marine claims (Hull, Cargo, Logistics). You will also support internal teams, stakeholders and system enhancements, ensuring accurate reporting and risk management. You will be responsible for: Implement and maintain effective claims processes for broker and partner portfolios. Administer claims, including catastrophe claims, payments and recoveries. Build and maintain relationships with brokers, partners, service providers, and suppliers. Provide guidance on complex claims, complaints and escalations. Analyse claims trends and highlight potential risks. Support operational improvements, vehicle replacement and system enhancements. Manage marine claims and provide technical backup on Hull, Cargo and Logistics insurance. Qualifications Matric / Grade 12 / NQF Level 5 RE5 (Regulatory Examination) qualification Skills The successful candidate will have: Minimum 7 years experience in non-life (short-term) insurance this is essential. 35 years experience in marine insurance (Hull, Cargo, or Logistics) this is advantageous. Minimum 3 years in a management role managing teams or overseeing claims operations (essential) Strong written and verbal communication Analytical and problem-solving ability Relationship management and negotiation skills Attention to detail, self-discipline, and independent work ethic Technical expertise in short-term insurance claims, including motor and marine Benefits Medical aid and provident fund contributions as pat of the cost to company package.
