About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Packaging Consultant to join our team at Greys Recruitment. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for developing and managing relationships with existing customers, identifying new business opportunities, and presenting packaging solutions that meet their needs.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop and manage relationships with allocated existing customers

* Identify new business opportunities within current accounts

* Pursue new customers and market opportunities

* Understand client needs and propose appropriate packaging solutions

* Present and communicate the company’s value proposition effectively

* Deliver high levels of customer service

* Proactively identify customer challenges and offer solutions

* Handle customer complaints and queries in line with company policy

* Facilitate the smooth flow of customer projects

* Provide product knowledge and packaging solution guidance

* Maintain daily logs of client meetings

* Complete weekly log sheets and estimates

* Submit and follow up on quotations

* Log and track CCRs (Customer Change Requests)

* Monitor back-orders and customer stock control

* Participate in annual budgeting

* Manage pre-production and rough orders

* Compile and submit reports as required

* Plan and manage personal sales schedule effectively

* Set personal performance goals and action plans

* Stay abreast of industry innovations and packaging trends

* Maintain strong stakeholder communication across all levels

Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • BCom Degree, National Diploma or similar analytical/commercial qualification (business, retail, consumer-focused fields preferred)
  • Proven experience in B2B sales
  • Experience within the plastic packaging industry (advantageous)
  • Strong understanding of consumer behaviour and packaging solutions
  • Commercial acumen and strong business fundamentals
  • Knowledge of supply chain and production processes (advantageous)
  • Experience in data extraction, data analysis and data evaluation (advantageous)
  • Strong negotiation and relationship management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong numerical reasoning and analytical ability
  • Highly presentable, dynamic and client-focused
  • Influential, tenacious and detail-oriented
