About the Role
We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our luxury safari lodge in the North West. As a key member of our culinary team, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional dining experiences in a stunning bush setting. Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Executive Chef in planning, preparing, and delivering all meals
- Ensure consistent quality, presentation, and portion control
- Supervise and train kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and motivated team
- Manage inventory, stock control, and kitchen ordering
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety
- Contribute to menu planning, seasonal specials, and dietary requirements
- Support smooth daily kitchen operations and resolve any challenges promptly
Requirements
Previous experience in a similar role within a luxury lodge, hotel, or high-end restaurant
Strong leadership skills with a hands-on approach in the kitchen
Excellent organisational and communication abilities
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks
Creativity and attention to detail in food preparation and presentation
Professionalism with a guest-focused approach
Ability to thrive in a remote, live-in environment
Qualifications
No formal education or certifications required.
Salary & Benefits
Salary: R13,000 per month (live-in)
Accommodation: Full live-in (including utilities)
