About the Role
A well-established and reputable organisation is seeking a Senior Financial Accounting Lead to take ownership of complex accounting areas, provide technical leadership, and ensure accurate international and statutory reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and review the accounts payable, accounts receivable, and treasury functions
- Take ownership of foreign exchange accounting, including: Currency revaluations Exchange differences Forex petty cash and currency updates
- Oversee international inter-company accounts, including balances, reconciliations, confirmations, and dispute resolution
- Ensure compliance with SARB regulations for cross-border payments
- Prepare and review inputs for international and group reporting (HFM or similar consolidation tools)
- Review and approve general ledger reconciliations, journals, and monthly provisions
- Analyse monthly expenses and challenge MTD / YTD trends and variances
- Maintain oversight of the fixed asset register and ensure accurate GL alignment
- Oversee banking administration, electronic payments, credit cards, and cash controls
- Review payroll journals and statutory third-party payments
- Prepare and submit VAT returns, EMP201 submissions, and support tax schedules and queries
- Act as the primary finance contact for internal and external audits
Requirements
- BCom Accounting essential (CA(SA) advantageous, not essential)
- Minimum 5 years accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing or a complex operational environment
- Strong experience in multinational and multi-currency accounting environments
- Solid technical understanding of: Forex accounting Inter-company transactions VAT and statutory compliance
- Advanced Excel capability (Pivot Tables, lookups, and data analysis)
