Job Description
About the Role
As a Registered Nurse at Greentree Subacute, you will assume total responsibility for patient care according to the SANC scope of practice, utilizing clinical knowledge and skill to deliver holistic nursing care that meets individual patients’ needs. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and optimize patient wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and perform nursing care with a holistic approach
- Assist patient personal hygiene and care delivered by caregivers/workers
- Implement treatment plans, including medication administration, wound care, and rehabilitation
- Participate in facility policies, protocols, and processes for quality improvement
- Attend handover of nursing report at shift commencement
- Perform frequent patient/bedside visits to establish effective communication
- Communicate rehab plan and monitor progress with nursing manager and rehabilitation practitioners
- Implement principles of infection prevention and control
- Comply with national regulations, laws, policies, procedures, and facility processes
- Provide continuous evidence-based nursing care
- Administer medication in accordance with facility procedures and pharmaceutical regulations
- Maintain patient confidentiality and manage patient information according to POPIA Act
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (SANC) qualification
- Current BLS competence
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and manage sensitive information
- Basic computer literacy and ability to use electronic medical records

Administration
- Ensure compliance with annual SANC registration and indemnity requirements

- Maintain accurate health records and ensure ongoing updating to ensure holistic care and monitoring of complications
Risk Management
- Maintain a therapeutic, clean, and safe environment free from medico-legal hazards and infection risks
- Adhere to facility emergency procedures, including basic life support and oxygen therapy availability
- Report potential/actual risks identified as per the facility risk register
