About the Role
The Centurion: R&D Technician (Mechanical) role is a critical position in our product development lifecycle, requiring a skilled professional to support the design, testing, and manufacturing of innovative mechanical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Prototype Assembly & Modification
- Machining & Fabrication
- Technical Interpretation: Accurate interpretation of mechanical drawings, CAD models, and technical documents.
- Design & Testing Support
- Test Execution & Data Collection: Setup and run mechanical and environmental tests, record results, and report findings.
- Troubleshooting & Diagnostics
- Design Iteration
- Collaboration
- Workshop Maintenance & Safety
- Experimental Setup & Instrumentation
- Material Sourcing & Inventory Management
- Documentation Contribution & Redlines
Requirements
- Diploma, certificate, or associate degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology/Mechatronics
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a product development lifecycle, from concept to prototype
- Proficient in the use of 3D printing equipment and additive manufacturing tools
- Understanding of materials science, including metals, plastics, and composites
- Knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, or electromechanical systems
- Experience in the Defence industry and familiarity with certification processes (advantageous)
- Computer literacy: Advanced skills in MS Excel and MS Word; proficient in eDrawings; familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics NAV (beneficial)
