About the Role
The Business Development Lead will be responsible for driving transaction growth across existing billers and payment channels in Johannesburg. This role requires a strong understanding of the payments environment, excellent sales and relationship management skills, and the ability to identify and implement innovative solutions to grow the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive transaction growth across existing billers and payment channels (retail and digital)
- Identify, source, and onboard new billers
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key biller stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor
- Develop and manage strategic partnerships (e.g. banks, referral partners)
- Identify and implement innovative solutions to grow
- Serve as the primary liaison between billers/prospects and internal teams
- Collaborate with marketing to support and enhance market presence
- Ensure smooth operational delivery for all biller-related activities
- Monitor, analyse, and report on sales performance, opportunities, and forecasts
Requirements
Relevant tertiary qualification. 5-8 years of similar experience in the payments/financial industry, with referenceable sales and enterprise-level client relationship management experience.
