About the Role
Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a hospitality-experienced Accountant for a hospitality group operating within the timeshare and lodge environment, based in Bryanston, Johannesburg. This is a senior, hands-on finance role requiring a commercially astute individual with strong leadership skills and solid hospitality accounting experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and maintenance of financial controls across all business units
- Support budget compilation, forecasting, schedules, and operational financial planning
- Interpret monthly management accounts and report anomalies to senior leadership
- Prepare monthly financial packs, weekly financial reports, and variance analyses
- Oversee year-end audits for all properties
- Compile and present monthly financial reports highlighting variances and policy impacts
- Ensure adherence to all financial manuals, controls, and checklists
- Draft and implement additional finance policies and procedures where required
- Supervise, train, and upskill accounting staff, promoting performance and job satisfaction
- Oversee payroll, personnel files, contracts, leave schedules, medical aid, and provident fund administration
- Ensure compliance with statutory and labour-related financial requirements
- Conduct audits of employee documentation and financial records
Requirements & Experience
2–4 years’ experience as a Financial Accountant or Finance Manager within the hospitality industry – ESSENTIAL
Proven experience supervising finance teams
Self-driven, commercially minded, and capable of operating with minimal supervision
Strong leadership, organisational, and reporting skills
Matric essential, further financial qualification advantageous
Valid South African ID number
Qualifications
Formal education/certifications (Bachelor’s, LLB, Matric, etc.) – NOT MENTIONED IN ORIGINAL
