About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented candidate to assist with various legal processes, including drafting documents, managing deceased estates, and communicating with clients and institutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the administration of deceased estates.
  • Draft legal documents including summons and notices.
  • Prepare liquidation and distribution accounts.
  • Draft and review wills and trusts.
  • Serve legal documents at the Sheriff’s office.
  • Lodge claims with the Road Accident Fund (RAF).
  • Submit documents to the Master of the High Court.
  • Advertise deceased estates in the Government Gazette and newspapers.
  • Ensure compliance with the Administration of Estates Act 66 of 1965.
  • Communicate with clients and provide updates on case progress.
  • Accompany clients to expert assessments.
  • Request and manage hospital records.
  • Upload legal documents on Case Lines.
  • Create and manage cases on Court Online.
  • Conduct legal research.
  • Complete RAF forms.
  • Handle correspondence with banks and other institutions.
  • Open and maintain physical client files.
  • Organize and manage file referencing systems.

Requirements

  • South African unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 34.
  • Must not have participated in the YES programme before.
  • Matric.
  • Bachelor of Laws (LLB).
