Job Description

Are you a motivated graduate looking to begin your career in civil engineering materials testing and site laboratory management?
Join a well-established civil engineering and materials testing services provider as a Trainee Site Laboratory Manager, where you will receive structured training and hands-on exposure to multi-disciplinary site laboratory operations across soils, concrete, asphalt, seals and aggregates. This role is ideal for a technically minded candidate eager to grow into a future laboratory leadership position.

Minimum requirements:

National Diploma or Certificate in Engineering (Civil Engineering or related field)
Entry-level position no prior experience required
Basic understanding of civil engineering materials testing (advantageous)
Willingness to work on site and participate in laboratory and field activities
Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures (advantageous)
Good communication skills

Key responsibilities:

Assist with daily laboratory testing activities
Support sampling and preparation of materials
Learn and apply prescribed test methods and procedures
Assist with data capturing, calculations and record keeping
Support equipment maintenance and calibration tracking
Assist with implementation of quality control systems
Participate in field work under supervision
Develop competency across all testing divisions

Remuneration:

R10 000 R18 000 per month (depending on qualifications and experience)
