About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Pastry Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team at Thohoyandou, where passion for pastry and attention to detail come together in a high-paced hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, produce, and present high-quality pastry and dessert items.
- Ensure consistency in taste, quality, and presentation.
- Assist in menu planning and recipe development for pastry items.
- Maintain hygiene, safety, and cleanliness standards in the pastry section.
- Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory control.
- Work closely with the Executive Chef and broader kitchen team to enhance the guest dining experience.
Requirements
Previous experience as a Chef de Partie – Pastry in a hotel or restaurant environment. Formal culinary qualification in pastry or baking. Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, desserts, and bakery items. Ability to work under pressure and maintain high standards. Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
Qualifications
- Formal culinary qualification in pastry or baking (e.g. Baking & Pastry Arts Diploma)
