About the Role
Safari JOBS is seeking a poised and guest-centric Front of House Manager to join the leadership team at one of the most vibrant and expansive luxury lodges in the Greater Kruger region. This role offers the perfect stage to showcase expertise in high-end hospitality, where modern elegance meets the raw beauty of the African bush.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure reception compile an accurate day sheet daily with all necessary guests’ information, arrival, and departure details
- Communicate any updates on the day sheet to all relevant departments
- Welcome guests as they arrive and check out guests
- Liaise with reservations
- Double-check room allocations
- Agent site inspections
- Respond to all guest questions and requests
- Recognise great guest feedback and deal with negative guest feedback constructively
- Lodge banking & gratuities
- Printing & stationary control
- Month-end of house accounts & activities
- Accept payments and other administrative duties
- Responsible for efficient management of the curio shop
- Assist with month-end stock takes in the curio shop
- Management of the FOH Team: Inspire, stimulate, and lead the team
- Develop your teams and individuals
- Ensure the right people are in the right positions
- Ensure your team is guest-focused
- All staff to be trained in their areas of responsibility and attend regular training workshops
- Manage the teams’ leave cycle and annual leave
- Hosting of Guests
- Maintain relationships with internal staff community, owners, & suppliers
Requirements
- Excellent English communication, fluency, and literacy
- Matric/Grade 12 certificate
- Min. 2 years experience in a similar role, preferably in a high-end safari lodge or hotel
- Computer literate – MS Office Suite, Reservation systems, POS systems, financial systems (Debtors)
- Good understanding of lodge operations
Qualifications
- Diploma or equivalent in Hospitality Management
- Previous experience with Opera, Fidelio, or PanHospitality
- Valid drivers license &/ PDP
Salary & Benefits
CTC remuneration NEG. DOE and qualifications
Work Cycle
21 days on, 7 days off plus 15 leave days per annum. **Applicable after three months of successful employment**
Note
Unfortunately, this position is not suitable for children or pets due to reserve regulations. Applications are open to South African citizens only.
