About the Role
Four Star City Centre Hotel is seeking a Senior and Junior Duty Manager to join our team. As an existing Duty Manager with experience in individual-style properties, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences and ensuring seamless day-to-day operations. Key Responsibilities
- Greets and assists all hotel guests with day-to-day operations.
- Assists in arrival and departures at the reception desk.
- Checks cleanliness of hotel and public areas, lights, and front office staff in proper and orderly appearance and behaviour.
- Responsible for accurate and professional shift handovers.
- Prepares and checks all arrivals and assists should a guest need to be escorted to their room.
- Co-ordinates with all departments concerned in order to maintain smooth day-to-day operations in the hotel.
- Checks groups in, ensures switchboard carries out professional & appropriate wake up calls to guest that request this service.
- Handles guest complaints and other related daily problems and reports back to the General Manager on all such matters.
- Assists reception, business centre, cashier, concierge, and porters during a busy shift.
- Promotes and maintains good public and staff relations.
- Maintains and be guided of hotel policy on credit/lost and found hotel guests properties.
- Conducts and ensures the staff are neat of appearance as well as correct attitude and behaviour, discusses problems that encountered during their shift.
- Need to be able to think quickly on your feet and make decisions with problems come up.
- Ensure full compliance to Hotel operating controls, policies, procedures, and service standards.
- Ensure all decisions are made in the best interest of the hotel’s and management.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3-5 Years as a Duty Manager in a 4 Star Hotel
- Excellent eye for attention to detail
- Firm and assertive with good business decision-making skills
- Ability to implement high standards, procedures, and structures
- Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and training software
- Team leadership experience with the ability to earn respect from a dedicated team
- Own transport required for this position
- Excellent communication skills in English and Afrikaans writing and speaking
- Person of sober and honest habits
- Prepared to take a random Drug, Alcohol or Poly Graph test if required
- Extensive hands-on experience
- Available to work when needed, including weekends, holidays, and nights
