Hire Resolve`s Client, A leading engineering company based in Johannesburg is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Financial Accountant to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic industry and contribute to the financial success of the company.

As a Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for managing all financial aspects of the company`s operations. This includes preparing financial statements, analyzing financial data, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. You will work closely with the finance team and other stakeholders to provide accurate financial information and support strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Full accounting function
  • Full processing from source documents to trial balance
  • Preparation and processing of monthly journals, salary journals, depreciation journals, Interest on loan accounts etc.
  • General ledger account reconciliations
  • Full Processing of cash book and reconciliation
  • Debtors and Creditors control account reconciliation and processing
  • Bank Reconciliations
  • Monthly VAT Calculations and VAT Recons
  • Preparation of Monthly Intercompany Invoices
  • Preparation of Monthly Management Reports
  • Preparation of Annual Financial Statements and assist with audit and queries
  • Calculation of Corporate Income Tax
  • SARS e-filing submission and administration and Liaise with SARS for any queries
  • Manage HP Loans
  • Manage and prepare monthly costs by Projects
  • Filing on Annual Returns
  • EMP501
  • EMP201
  • IT14 tax returns
  • Admin Duties

Requirements
  • B Com Degree in Financial Accounting or similar
  • 3 Years working accounting experience and above
  • SAGE Accounting packages
  • SARS e-filing
  • Valid drivers license and own reliable transport
  • Attention to detail
  • Microsoft Excel
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations
  • Experience with accounting software and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate with stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong organizational and time management skills

As a Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for managing financial transactions, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. You will work closely with clients to understand their financial needs and provide expert advice and support.

We are looking for a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of accounting principles. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative environment are also essential for this role.

 

Key

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare VAT workings for monthly VAT submission to Tax Authority (1 week per month)
  • Captures monthly bank statements on manual bank accounts
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
  • Enter invoices in SAP for payments
  • Prepare payment packs for payments to be made
  • General payment admin (Sends proof of payments to vendors, communicates with vendors to confirm banking d
  • Assistance with supporting calculations and disclosures related to the Annual Financial Statements
  • Preparation of workings for Quarterly Management Accounts for SARB regulatory reporting
  • Sends out Credit Card statements for capture
  • Weekly cash reporting to Group Treasury
  • Complete online IXBRL format for Annual Financial Statements for regulator submission
  • Ad hoc admin activities

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor`s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial accounting
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations
  • Proficent in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Financial Accountant to join our client`s team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and accounting, and will be responsible for managing the financial health of our organization. The Financial Accountant will work closely with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.

Responsibilities:


– Prepare financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP standards
– Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes
– Manage the general ledger and ensure the accuracy of all financial data
