? The Role
As the Supply Chain Specialist, you will be responsible for managing supplier relationships, optimising procurement and logistics processes, and supporting cost control across the supply chain function.
? Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Supplier Management
- Source and onboard new suppliers while maintaining strong existing relationships
- Obtain and analyse supplier quotations, including detailed cost breakdowns
- Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and quantities
- Support supplier selection through comparative analysis
- Maintain and update the supplier database
Costing & Commercial Support
- Manage and maintain the costing database
- Compile accurate costings and assist with quote preparation
- Provide insights on pricing and cost optimisation
- Monitor project costs and highlight variances
Logistics & Freight Coordination
- Work with freight forwarders to determine optimal routes and rates
- Oversee shipment documentation and ensure compliance
- Support efficient freight processes and consolidation initiatives
Systems & Process Management
- Ensure effective use of ERP systems (Sage advantageous)
- Support supply chain processes, policies, and documentation
- Maintain accurate records and documentation systems
Operational & Team Support
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth order processing
- Provide support across supply chain activities and problem-solving
- Assist with supplier selection and order approvals
Performance & Reporting
- Track supply chain KPIs and performance against targets
- Support financial reconciliations and variance analysis
? Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Procurement, or related field
- Minimum 2+ years’ experience in a supply chain, procurement, or logistics role
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
- Solid analytical and costing ability
- Excellent organisational and coordination skills
- High attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Proficiency in ERP systems (Sage preferred) and Microsoft Office
- Import & export experience is advantageous
