About the Role
Hire Resolve’s client is currently seeking a Professional Civil Engineer to join their team in Bellville/Paarl, contributing to the planning, design, and implementation of municipal infrastructure projects. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and improvement of essential infrastructure while working in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, design, and manage municipal infrastructure projects, including water supply, piping systems, stormwater management, and development contributions (DCs).
- Conduct feasibility studies, site investigations, and engineering assessments to inform project planning and design decisions.
- Prepare detailed engineering designs, drawings, and specifications in accordance with regulatory standards and client requirements.
- Coordinate with internal teams, external consultants, and regulatory authorities to obtain necessary approvals and permits for project implementation.
- Oversee construction activities, provide technical guidance and support to site teams, and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Conduct site inspections, quality control assessments, and compliance checks to ensure adherence to design specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare project reports, progress updates, and presentations for clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.
- Foster positive relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders through effective communication, collaboration, and problem-solving.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (BSc Civil) from a recognized institution.
- Registered as a Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA).
- 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in civil engineering, with a focus on municipal infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in Afrikaans language is essential for effective communication with clients and stakeholders in the Bellville/Paarl area.
- Strong technical skills in engineering design, project management, and construction supervision.
- Knowledge of relevant engineering software and tools for design, analysis, and project management.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements, standards, and guidelines governing municipal infrastructure projects in South Africa.
Qualifications
- Formal education/certifications: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (BSc Civil) from a recognized institution.
