About the Company
Our client is a small, privately owned logistics business operating within the agricultural sector. The company specialises in the transportation of agricultural chemicals to farming clients and runs a lean, close-knit operation where teamwork and flexibility are essential. Due to the size of the business, employees are expected to assist wherever needed to ensure smooth daily operations.
About the Role
The Operations Assistant will support the day-to-day coordination of transport activities and work closely with drivers and internal staff. This is not a senior role and is best suited to someone who is hands-on, willing to pitch in, and comfortable working in a small team environment. During peak agricultural seasons, extended working hours may be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with daily transport and operational activities
- Liaising directly with drivers and supporting them as needed
- Capturing and updating operational information on internal systems
- General administrative support using Word, Excel and Outlook
- Assisting across functions when required due to the small team structure
- Supporting extended operational hours during peak season
Requirements
- Afrikaans speaking (used for the majority of daily communication)
- Valid driver’s licence and own reliable transport
- Computer literate with working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook
- Comfortable working with drivers and operational staff
- Willing to work flexible and extended hours during busy periods
- Transport or logistics experience advantageous
- Practical, adaptable mindset suited to a small company environment
