About the Role
The Central University of Technology, Free State is seeking a skilled Enterprise System Engineer to join our team in Bloemfontein. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, securing, and optimizing enterprise server and cloud infrastructure to ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of core systems that support institutional operations and digital transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and optimize server and cloud environments
- Provide infrastructure support
- Manage and automate backup, recovery, and data protection processes to ensure business continuity and compliance
- Implement and enforce ICT security measures to safeguard systems, data, and networks against evolving threats
Requirements
- National Diploma in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Systems Engineering, or related field (NQF Level 6) or equivalent qualification recognised by SAQA
- Three (3) years experience in enterprise server, virtualisation, or cloud infrastructure environments
Qualifications
- Advanced Diploma in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Systems Engineering, or related field (NQF Level 7) or equivalent qualification recognised by SAQA
- Five (5) years experience in enterprise server, virtualisation, or cloud infrastructure environments
- Certifications: Operating systems, server platforms, and/or virtualisation platforms; Linux Foundation Certified Engineer (LFCE), Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or VMWare Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP-Design or Deploy)
Salary & Benefits
Minimum salary scale (Total Cost to Company): R 641 532 per annum (2026 salary scales to be confirmed)
