Minimum requirements

• Matric
• RE5 qualification (must have)
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in short or long-term insurance
• High ethical standards
• Strong work ethic and reliability
• Fluent in Afrikaans and English
• Reliable transport

Duties and responsibilities

• Evaluate insurance applications and supporting documentation to determine risk exposure
• Review property, financial, and client information to assess eligibility and coverage requirements
• Analyse statistical data, reports, and claims history to support sound underwriting decisions
• Prepare, review, and approve insurance quotes, policies, and endorsements in line with company guidelines
• Ensure underwriting practices comply with legal, regulatory, and company standards
• Negotiate policy terms, conditions, and premiums with brokers, agents, and clients
• Maintain accurate records of underwriting decisions, risk assessments, and correspondence
• Collaborate with sales, claims, and risk management teams to support business objectives
• Monitor existing policies for renewals, changes, or cancellations, ensuring accuracy and profitability
• Provide excellent service and clear communication to clients, colleagues, and stakeholders

Work hours

Monday – Thursday: 08:00 – 16:45

Friday: 08:00 – 16:15

Remuneration

R 13 000 basic + Pension fund contribution (after 3 month probation period)
