About the Role

A leading metals recovery and processing company in the mining and heavy industrial sector is seeking an experienced Procurement Superintendent to join their team in Brits, North West. The successful candidate will oversee group procurement and stores functions, driving procurement strategy, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with statutory and internal governance standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, consolidate, and analyse procurement and stores data, including month-end reporting.
  • Source goods and services for the group.
  • Evaluate tenders, conduct commercial negotiations, and recommend suppliers.
  • Analyse spend and develop procurement strategies.
  • Coordinate and manage group procurement activities.
  • Drive B-BBEE procurement strategy.
  • Ensure statutory and audit compliance.
  • Prepare and manage the annual stores budget.
  • Manage stock control and routable controls.
  • Supervise procurement and stores teams.
  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety regulations in line with MHSA and company policies.

Requirements

  • BCom Degree or National Diploma in Supply Chain Management or Commercial Management
  • OR Engineering Diploma or Degree with at least 5 years experience in stores and procurement.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a heavy industry environment (preferably chrome or PGM).
  • Knowledge of Sage or similar financial/accounting systems advantageous.
  • Advanced MS Office proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and strategic thinking skills.
  • High level of integrity and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
