About the Role
We are seeking a well-experienced Industrial Relations Officer (IR) professional to join our team in an underground mining environment at Burgersfort, Limpopo. The successful candidate will be based on site and will play a crucial role in maintaining positive labour relations with unions and shop stewards.
Key Responsibilities
- Chairing, facilitating, and drafting of all documentations associated with disciplinary actions and disciplinary hearings
- CCMA representation up to and including arbitration
- Handling protective and unprotective strikes
- Facilitating and maintaining good working relationships with unions and union officials
- Monitoring internal labour relations matters and reporting on these matters
- Implementing Employment Equity (if applicable)
- Chairing Employment Equity committee meetings (if applicable)
Requirements
- 10 years of experience as an IR Professional in the mining environment or a similar unionized environment
- 10 years of experience in disciplinary action, including CCMA representation and arbitration
- Strong understanding of labour laws and regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Qualifications
- Grade 12
- Tertiary qualifications in HR/IR/Legal
- Valid driver’s license
- Medical fitness to obtain a red ticket medical certificate
