About the Role
Our client, a well-established Express Breakbulk Road Freight company, seeks a National Operations Manager based in Johannesburg to ensure the smooth operational running of branches within KZN, Mpumalanga and Gauteng.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure operational processes and procedures are implemented in all aspects of operations
- Manage operational targets across the business
- Manage the Branch in Johannesburg
- Oversee the operations for all 9 branches to ensure they meet their operational KPIs
- Develop and lead direct reports to achieve objectives.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legal and statutory requirements and internationally accepted environmental, health, safety and quality standards.
- Contribute to annual operational budget forecast
- Take immediate action on non-compliance issues
- Ensure the OHS and quality standards
- Identify and timeously address functional related problems and opportunities
- Ensure client relationships are maintained
- Conduct competitor analysis
- Control expenses to assist with the GP of the branches
- Experience with unions nationally
- Manage Employment Equity requirements in the branches.
- Experience with Disciplinary Codes and Procedures
Requirements
- Matric
- Tertiary qualification in Logistics or Supply Chain (RAU qualifications very advantageous)
- 10 Years experience in the Breakbulk Road Transport Industry
- Min 8 Years experience in a Leadership and Operations Management Role
- Experience in dealing with Unions essential
- Fleet Management and mechanical knowledge required
