Job Description
Our client, a leader in the care rental industry is seeking a Car Park Manager to join their team based in Cape Town.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Matric certificate.
- A tertiary qualification (in any discipline).
- Valid Code B drivers license
- At least 5 years of management experience (preferred).
- Background in logistics, fleet management, or operational leadership preferred.
- Strong understanding of labour relations, risk management, and OHS compliance.
- Must demonstrate a high level of emotional intelligence (EQ) and strong conflict resolution skills.
- Availability to work shifts and attend to after-hours emergencies when required.
- Ability to speak another language (German, French and Italian) Advantageous
MAIN JOB FUNCTIONS
- Lead and manage a team of approximately 100 employees across departments: Car Park, Kiosk, Depot, Fleet, and Admin.
- Oversee both operations at the airport.
- Ensure operational efficiency and turnaround of fleet vehicles (800+ daily during peak).
- Maintain compliance with OHS standards and act at the level of a SHE Rep.
- Manage incidents involving vehicle accidents, customer issues (including foreign nationals), roadside assistance, and police coordination.
- Handle financial oversight: costs, daily penalties, holding fees, vehicle licensing and services, insurance claims, and damage recovery.
- Monitor risk areas including theft (by customers or vagrants), crime involving rental cars, and customer misconduct.
- Ensure consistent application of labour relations, including conflict resolution, disciplinary processes, and team management.
- Be available for emergencies 24/7, especially during the peak season (Sept to April) leave restrictions apply during this time.
- Foster a collaborative team culture, provide support and mentorship, and maintain morale and productivity.
- Communicate effectively with international clients preference given to multilingual candidates (German, French, or Italian an advantage).
- Support compliance and reporting functions including detailed documentation and incident handling.
