Cape Town City Centre: Bartender

We are seeking a professional Bartender to join the Food & Beverage team and provide exceptional beverage service in a luxury hotel bar environment. The successful candidate will craft cocktails, serve beverages, and deliver a welcoming, engaging experience for all guests. Critical Criteria (Requirements) Minimum 2–3 years’ experience as a bartender in luxury hotels or high-end restaurants Certification in wine, spirits, and mixology advantageous Knowledge of cocktail preparation, bar operations, and responsible alcohol service Excellent guest service, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays South African citizen with a valid ID Key Competencies Beverage Preparation & Service – Prepare and serve cocktails, wines, spirits, and other beverages according to recipes and hotel standards Guest Engagement & Service – Deliver friendly, professional, and attentive service while engaging with guests Bar Operations & Maintenance – Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and organization of the bar at all times Stock & Inventory Management – Monitor bar inventory, report shortages, and assist in stock control Event & Promotion Support – Support bar promotions, events, and special functions Health, Safety & Compliance – Ensure adherence to health, safety, hygiene, and liquor licensing regulations Duties & Responsibilities Prepare and serve beverages accurately according to hotel recipes and standards Provide attentive, courteous service to all guests Maintain a clean, organized, and well-presented bar environment Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering, and manage inventory responsibly Support bar promotions, events, and special beverage initiatives Ensure compliance with all health, safety, hygiene, and liquor regulations Collaborate with F&B and other hotel teams to ensure smooth service Uphold the hotel’s values of Teamwork, Respect, Innovation, Accountability, Passion, and Integrity Important Application Notes Must hold a valid South African ID Only candidates with relevant experience will be shortlisted Ensure your CV is 100% updated All applicants will attend a virtual introduction interview Recruitment aligns with the company’s Employment Equity Plan About the Hotel The President Hotel is on a journey to be recognised as a true luxury destination.
