About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Engineer to join our team in Cape Town City Centre. As a key member of our cybersecurity operations, you will be responsible for designing and implementing security controls across systems and networks, monitoring and responding to security incidents and threats, and conducting vulnerability assessments and penetration testing activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain security controls across systems and networks
- Monitor, detect, and respond to security incidents and threats
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and support penetration testing activities
- Configure and manage security tools such as SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection
- Ensure compliance with security policies, standards, and regulatory frameworks
- Support security incident investigations and remediation efforts
Requirements
- 3 years of experience as a Cybersecurity Engineer or Security Analyst
- Strong understanding of network, infrastructure, and application security
- Experience with security monitoring and SIEM tools
- Knowledge of vulnerability management, threat analysis, and incident response
- Familiarity with firewalls, endpoint security, IAM, and access controls
- Exposure to cloud security (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Qualifications
- Degree or Diploma in IT, Information Security, or related fields
- Security certifications (Security, CEH, CISSP advantageous)
