About the Role
Our client operates in the tech/engineering solutions space, proudly based in the scenic Somerset West area. They are growing fast and need a Financial Controller who can keep up – preferably someone who can turn financial chaos into calm, turn statements into stories, and maybe even make IFRS look fun. As the ideal candidate, you will be taking ownership of the finance function with enthusiasm, finding comfort in an impeccably reconciled account.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of the financial control function.
- Ensure accurate and timeous financial processing and reporting.
- Manage and oversee debtors and creditors with confidence.
- Maintain and improve financial controls that would make your audit manager emotional.
- Prepare monthly reporting packs and year-end deliverables.
- Investigate variances and financial oddities with detective-level enthusiasm.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to keep finance aligned, compliant, and calm, even under pressure.
Requirements
- CA(SA) – newly qualified candidates are welcome.
- Strong financial reporting and control capabilities.
- Experience handling debtors and creditors (bonus points if you enjoy bringing order to chaos).
- Excellent ability to cope under pressure – tight deadlines, multiple priorities, and the occasional curveball should not scare you.
- Analytical problem-solver with a creative streak.
- High attention to detail and ability to communicate with non-finance people without tears.
- Business acumen.
Qualifications
- Formal education/certifications (Bachelor’s, LLB, Matric, etc.) are NOT required for this role.
