About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Toolmaker to join our team in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for manufacturing, assembling, and fitting plastic injection mould tools and components to precise engineering specifications. Key Responsibilities
- Manufacture, assemble, and fit plastic injection mould tools and components to precise engineering specifications
- Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and modifications on existing moulds
- Diagnose tooling issues and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime
- Work closely with production and engineering teams to optimize tool performance
- Conduct tool trials and ensure moulds meet quality and production standards
- Interpret technical drawings, CAD data, and specifications accurately
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety and quality standards
- Maintain accurate records of tooling work, repairs, and modifications
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Toolmaker in plastic injection moulding (essential)
- Strong knowledge of mould construction, tool fitting, and machining processes
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Experience with manual machining (milling, turning, grinding, etc.)
- High attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong commitment to quality and safety standards
Preferred (Advantageous but Not Required)
- Experience in the automotive manufacturing industry
- Familiarity with CNC machining and CAD/CAM systems
Qualifications
- Trade Test Certificate or equivalent qualification in Toolmaking
- Relevant technical certifications will be an added advantage
