Cape Town City Centre: Fund Operations

An established financial services business is looking to appoint a Fund Operations Finance Associate into its operations team based in Cape Town. This role is ideally suited to a newly qualified CA(SA) seeking exposure to fund operations, financial oversight, and analytical work within a structured and fast-paced environment. The team offers exposure across finance, operations, and stakeholder engagement, with opportunities to develop strong commercial insight while working closely with multiple internal and external partners What you will be doing: Overseeing finance-related activities performed by third-party service providers, including bank reconciliations, investor and broker payments, taxation processes, and commissions and rebates Reviewing and resolving reconciling items on bank accounts and monitoring overdraft positions Managing relationships with banking partners and attending to finance- and tax-related queries Performing analytical reviews and trend analysis on client and broker data Conducting data analysis to investigate operational issues and support decision-making Identifying key financial and operational risks and ensuring appropriate controls are in place Building strong working relationships with internal teams such as Tax, Compliance, and Operations Participating in finance, banking, tax, and regulatory-related projects Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency through process optimisation and automation Using data and technology tools (e.g. SQL, Python, advanced Excel, Power BI or similar) to support reporting and scalable solutions What we are looking for: Newly qualified CA(SA) Exposure to asset management, fund operations, or financial services operations is advantageous Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail Experience or interest in data analysis and interpretation Proficiency in SQL and exposure to automation or analytics tools beneficial A curious mindset with an interest in technology-enabled process improvement Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative, client-focused approach Benefits and unique aspects: Exposure to a specialised fund operations environment within financial services Opportunity to work closely with multiple stakeholders across finance and operations Strong focus on learning, analytical development, and process improvement Involvement in automation and technology-enabled initiatives early in your career A structured environment offering long-term career development If you haven’t heard back from us within two weeks of submitting your application, unfortunately your application has not been successful this time.
