About the Role

As a Factory Manager at our Cape Town City Centre facility, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily production and dispatch operations of our wooden and sheet metal retail display stands. You will ensure that all units meet strict quality and build standards before dispatch, while also leading, training, and motivating your team to achieve daily output targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the end-to-end manufacturing of wooden and sheet metal retail display stands
  • Ensure all units meet strict quality and build standards before dispatch
  • Lead, train, and motivate the production and warehouse teams to achieve daily output targets
  • Manage raw material and finished goods stock systems, ensuring accurate logging and replenishment
  • Optimise the picking, assembly, and packing environment for speed and accuracy
  • Identify production bottlenecks and implement lean process improvements
  • Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety regulations
  • Drive operational efficiency while maintaining non-negotiable quality standards
  • Report on production performance, stock levels, and operational improvements to senior management

Requirements

  • 35 years proven leadership experience within a manufacturing or assembly environment
  • Strong understanding of assembly line workflows, ideally within woodwork, sheet metal, shopfitting, or display manufacturing
  • Solid experience managing stock and inventory systems
  • Ability to manage a fast-paced production and picking environment where precision is critical

Qualifications

  • Own transport and valid license

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Factory Manager to lead our end-to-end factory operations in Cape Town City Centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving productivity, quality, and safety across all processes, while fostering a strong team culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage end-to-end factory operations, including fabrication, machining, assembly, and finishing
  • Ensure production schedules and output targets are consistently achieved
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize productivity and reduce waste
  • Maintain and enforce quality standards and compliance across all processes
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations and promote a strong safety culture
  • Develop, mentor, and manage supervisors and production teams
  • Collaborate with engineering, sales, and procurement to ensure operational alignment
  • Monitor KPIs and production performance, implementing corrective actions where required

Requirements

  • Minimum N5 qualification in Mechanical Engineering (or higher)
  • Proven experience within heavy industrial or manufacturing environments (e.g. compressors, pumps, turbines, HVAC, refrigeration)
  • Strong machining and fabrication knowledge
  • Experience managing production teams and factory operations
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and operational efficiencies

About the Role

The Factory Manager position is a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our factory, with a focus on delivering high-quality products on time and within budget. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of production priorities, sequencing, allocation of labour and resources, and quality control processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all jobs are clearly understood before manufacturing (drawings, specs, job cards)
