About the Role
The Head of Operations will provide overall leadership for operations, setting priorities, driving performance, and ensuring alignment with strategic objectives. This role is critical to supporting profitability targets and reporting directly to the CEO on operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership for operations
- Set priorities and drive performance
- Oversee management and performance of Sales, Warehouse, and Finance departments
- Report directly to the CEO on operational performance
- Collaborate with Senior Management team to achieve financial, productivity, margin improvement, and customer satisfaction goals
- Champion continuous improvement through employee engagement, process optimization, and adoption of best practices
- Lead and inspire teams to consistently meet and exceed objectives
- Ensure compliance with local and international laws, as well as Group policies and directives
- Maintain a safe, healthy, and engaging work environment
Requirements
- Matric plus a relevant tertiary qualification in Commerce and/or Finance
- Minimum of 10 years in a senior leadership role
- Extensive experience in financial and operational management
- Proven track record in the shipping and logistics industry (advantageous)
- Experience leading teams in a unionized environment
Qualifications
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
