About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Shipping Controller to join our team in Cape Town City Centre. As a key member of our logistics department, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating local and international shipments and distribution schedules, ensuring accurate stock movement and storage of finished goods.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate local and international shipments and distribution schedules
- Prepare and manage all shipping, export, and commercial documentation
- Control picking, packing, and container loading processes
- Ensure accurate stock movement and storage of finished goods
- Liaise with production, sales, and warehouse teams to align shipment requirements
- Negotiate and manage transport and courier service providers
- Coordinate raw material transport and intercompany logistics
- Track and communicate ETAs, ETDs, and delivery updates to stakeholders
- Verify and approve transport, courier, and export-related invoices
- Maintain accurate records of shipping activity, stock movements, and reporting
- Manage international warehouse stock, replenishment, and distribution
- Oversee forklift operations in line with loading schedules
Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Degree / Diploma / certifications in supply chain / shipping
- Proven experience in shipping, logistics, or distribution within manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of export documentation, shipping processes, and Incoterms
- Experience working with ERP systems (Syspro advantageous)
