Job Summary
Key Responsibilities:
Meter Reading & Oversight
- Approve and monitor meter reading schedules (28–32 day cycles)
- Ensure timely finalization and accuracy of readings
- Resolve access issues and escalate non-compliance when needed
Billing & Processing
- Align reading periods with billing dates
- Approve imports from MDM, PNP, and MeterConnect systems
- Oversee variance and performance report updates
- Approve final billing files and ensure landlord policy compliance
Exception Management & Special Billing
- Oversee solar, generator, and special billing accuracy
- Monitor and document irregularities, faulty equipment, and exceptions
Client Reporting & Query Resolution
- Ensure accurate, on-time submission of utility files to clients
- Oversee resolution of client/tenant queries within 72 hours
Team & Process Leadership
- Lead utility administrators and provide formal/informal training
- Define performance goals, monitor progress, and give feedback
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration with internal teams
Client Engagement
- Attend monthly utility meetings and ad hoc sessions with landlords and tenants
- Maintain open, professional communication with all stakeholders
Requirements:
- Matric with Maths and Accounting (mandatory)
- Tertiary qualification (diploma/degree) – preferred
- 3–5 years in utility management or property utility admin
- Advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, large datasets)
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
