Executive Housekeeper | Luxury Hotel | Cape Town
Salary: R27,000
Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Executive Housekeeper for a luxury hotel in Cape Town. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong leader to oversee housekeeping and laundry operations, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and guest satisfaction within a high-end hospitality environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the housekeeping department, leading a dedicated team, and maintaining exceptional operational standards across all areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all housekeeping and onsite laundry operations within the property
- Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation are maintained
- Lead, train, and motivate the housekeeping team to deliver exceptional service
- Manage daily operations, staffing, and departmental efficiency
- Implement and maintain standard operating procedures and quality controls
- Monitor and manage stock levels, linen, and cleaning supplies
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations
- Maintain and manage rooms management systems and reporting processes
- Handle guest requests and complaints professionally and efficiently
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure standards are consistently met
- Identify training needs and support staff development
- Drive continuous improvement in service levels and operational standards
Requirements:
- Matric or Grade 12 with a tertiary qualification in Housekeeping Management
- Minimum of 3 years experience in housekeeping and onsite laundry management in a large, multi-use facility
- At least 2 years supervisory experience in a similar role
- Proficiency in general office computer applications
- Working knowledge of rooms management systems
- Experience with Protel or Opera property management systems advantageous
- Advanced knowledge of housekeeping and laundry procedures
- Strong leadership, organisational, and time management skills
- Ability to work accurately under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving, planning, and administrative abilities
- Ability to motivate and positively influence a team
- Service-driven with a positive and proactive attitude
