About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Accountant to join our team in Cape Town. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing financial transactions, conducting monthly and yearly financial close activities, and maintaining accurate financial records.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Conduct monthly and yearly financial close activities and reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Reviewing supplier recons and payments prior to release.
- Forex payment processing via current bank account.
- Participate in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
- Assist with audits and other financial assessments as required.
- Creating and maintaining spreadsheets and/or databases to record, monitor and compile information.
- Preparation and submission of statutory returns (e.g VAT201, EMP201).
- General admin duties associated with the position.
- Adhere to all deadlines set by management.
- Assisting with cashflow management.
Requirements
- Professional accounting qualification (CA or CPA)
- 3+ years working experience as a Financial Accountant
- MS Office Suite (Advanced level in excel Pivots, vlookups, xlookups etc)
- Knowledge of accounting software and ERP systems (Syspro is preferred)
