Well established automation company based in Cape Town are seeking a qualified and experience applicant to join their dynamic team

The Financial Controller will play a key role in steering our financial operations toward continued success. The applicants expertise in managing accounting practices, budgeting processes, and financial planning will not only ensure our financial integrity and drive strategic decisions to foster business growth and maximum profitability.

FINANCE

• Responsible for the Accounting Operations including all aspects, Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition
• Responsible for the banking and Cashbook processing & Petty Cash recons
• Leading Budget and Financial Forecasts: Direct the preparation of our budget and financial forecasts, reporting on variances
• Publishing Monthly Management Accounts
• Ensure & Support the Auditors in the timely preparation and delivery of Annual Financial Statements
• Handling Statutory /Regulatory Reporting: Coordinate all aspects of business requirements
• Quality Control Over Transactions and Reporting: Oversee and ensure the integrity of financial transactions and reports
• Responsible for All Tax Filings: Stay compliant with all government reporting requirements and tax obligations Vat, Income Tax, Queries
• Assign, monitor, and coordinate assignments (plan and organise work)
• Provide technical, procedural and policy guidance to the companies
• Handling all aspects of Insurance cover/claims for the Companies, including annual renewals
• Maintain/update the Vehicle Amortization schedules

REPORTING

• Analyse and interpret financial data and recommend changes to improve systems and financial performance
• Assess financial components (e.g., revenue, expense, operating income and expenses, net income, capex, and cash flows) of all Departments and Companies
• Manage the companys fixed assets
• Ensure assets are loaded onto the financial system correctly, and that they are depreciated correctly and can be physically verified from the system to the physical location
• Maintain/update the Fixed Asset Registers to track depreciation entries

FINANCIAL ANALYSIS

• Responsible for project financial analysis, exploring feasibilities, profit returns, risks etc…across all group companies
• Navigate the dynamic world of Cash Flow, guiding forecasts, and ensuring funding aligns seamlessly
• Lead the audits, by maintaining precise trial balances, and driving system enhancements
• Reconciling sales and accounting systems, and process journal entries
• Support Business leaders and handle any ad hoc challenges

REQUIREMENTS

• Experienced Financial Controller: Your proven experience in this role has equipped you with deep broad spectrum business insights
• Knowledgeable in Accounting Principles: You have a thorough understanding of accounting procedures and principles, including accounting law
• Financial Statements: Skilled in creating financial statements and familiar with general ledger functions
• Qualified in Your Field: Holding an accounting /finance qualification
• Tech-Savvy in Accounting Software: You bring excellent skills in using and administering accounting software

Knowledge

• Good knowledge of accounting processes and principles
• Very good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and a fair knowledge of Microsoft Word
• Good knowledge of accounting packages, Pastel/Sage will be a preferred option
• Preferred -Basic knowledge of deal management packages, e.g. BPO/CO3. Training will be provided
• Experience in working with ERP systems with experience in Inventory & Accounting systems interface
