As an Imports Controller, you will play a key role in managing the imports process for clients. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing all aspects of the imports process, including documentation, customs clearance, and transportation. You will collaborate with various stakeholders, such as suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers, to ensure the smooth and efficient movement of imports.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and manage all import activities, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations.
• Prepare and review import documentation, including bills of lading, invoices, and packing lists.
• Liaise with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth import operations.
• Monitor shipment status and track delivery schedules to ensure timely arrival of goods.
• Resolve any issues or delays related to import shipments.
• Maintain accurate records of all import transactions and related documentation.
• Ensure proper classification and valuation of imported goods in accordance with customs regulations.
• Assist in the development and implementation of import policies and procedures.
• Provide support and guidance to internal teams on import-related matters.
• Stay updated on changes in import laws and regulations to ensure compliance.

Requirements: 

• Relevant degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Imports Controller or similar role
• Strong knowledge of imports regulations, customs procedures, and documentation requirements
• Experience in using imports documentation software and tools
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask and prioritize
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Ability to work well in a team environment
