About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager: Operations to lead our air cargo operations in Cape Town. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning, managing, and overseeing end-to-end cargo operations within a dynamic airfreight network. This is a hands-on leadership role that demands strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple moving parts across people, processes, and systems.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and manage daily cargo operations to ensure efficient freight movement
Allocate and manage staff, equipment, and vehicles to meet operational demands
Oversee warehouse and cargo handling processes in line with company standards
Drive compliance with safety, security, and regulatory requirements
Conduct audits, inspections, and incident investigations
Manage employee performance, rosters, attendance, and development
Ensure accurate reporting and communication across operational teams
Maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
Monitor service levels and implement improvements where required

Requirements

Certificate in Supply Chain Management (NQF Level 5)
Minimum 5 years industry experience, including 3 years in a managerial role
Experience in air cargo, logistics, or warehouse operations
Strong knowledge of health, safety, and regulatory requirements
Experience handling HR and IR matters
Proficiency in operational systems and reporting tools
Valid Code 10 drivers licence
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to work under pressure and manage after-hours operations when required
