Hire Resolve’s Client is seeking a dynamic and skilled Mechanical/fire Engineer to join their developing team in Cape Town.

Responsibilities:

• Design & Engineering: Develop mechanical and fire protection system designs, including sprinklers, hydrants, fire pumps, smoke control, and suppression systems.
• Code Compliance: Ensure designs meet local, national, and international fire safety codes (e.g., NFPA, IBC, ASHRAE).
• Risk Assessment: Conduct fire risk evaluations, hazard analysis, and safety inspections.
• Project Management: Collaborate with architects, MEP engineers, and construction teams to integrate fire safety solutions effectively.
• Testing & Commissioning: Oversee system testing, commissioning, and performance evaluations.
• Innovation: Stay up to date with the latest fire safety technologies and best practices.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or a related field.
• A Masters degree is a plus but not required.

• Minimum 3+ years of experience in fire protection engineering, mechanical design, or a related role.
• Experience with fire suppression, smoke control, and mechanical fire protection systems.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and hydraulic calculation software (e.g., HASS, FHC, or similar).
• Strong understanding of fire safety codes and standards (NFPA, IBC, ASHRAE, BS, FM Global).
• Knowledge of fire suppression systems, including sprinklers, hydrants, fire pumps, gaseous suppression, and smoke control systems.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking.

• Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.

• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
