About the Role
The Pro Shop Assistant role at BGA Recruitment in Cape Town is a key position that requires excellent customer service skills, sales abilities, and attention to detail. As the first point of contact for golfers visiting the club, the Pro Shop Assistant plays a vital role in creating a positive experience for members and guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Reports directly to the Golf Shop Manager.
- Continually increases sales and maintains optimal customer service levels in the golf shop.
- Supervises and assists in daily golf shop operation, including opening and closing of the golf shop, selling of shop merchandise, and supervising part-time workers.
- Ensures cleanliness in the golf shop remains at an optimal level.
- Assists in creating a first-class experience for each customer visiting the club.
- Adheres to all procedures as specified by golf shop policy documents.
- Maintains a well merchandised shop, as specified by retail and merchandising managers.
- Assists Golf Shop Manager in conducting product, sales, and service training.
- Attends Golf Shop meetings and provides feedback on operation.
- Handles customer complaints and resolves if possible.
- Prepares daily reports and cash-ups as required.
- Performs stock counts as and when required by the Golf Shop Manager.
- Administers and conveys rules and regulations established for the club facility.
- Promotes use of all golf course facilities to members and guests.
- Assists in coordinating and facilitating golf competitions.
- Assists with promoting PGA Professional lessons.
- Assists with scoring if the Club requires the Pro Shop to manage scoring on member competition days.
- Performs repairs (regripping and other) if correct tools are available.
- Checks all stock against corresponding invoices when delivered.
- Maintains documentation (invoices, credit notes, return slips, and repair slips) in order.
