Knowledge Hub Intern Humanitarian Projects Location: South Africa (candidates must be based in Cape Town, South Africa) Duration: 9-12 months Start Date: 1 March 2026 Are you a recent graduate or final-year student with a passion for knowledge management, data, and making information work harder for impact ? This is an exciting opportunity to join CTG as a Knowledge Hub Intern and gain hands-on experience in a dynamic, international organisation operating in the humanitarian and development sector. About the Internship This internship offers a unique opportunity to build practical skills in knowledge management, stakeholder engagement, data analytics, communications, and marketing , while working on real projects that support decision-making across the organisation. The role is designed as a structured learning journey, with strong guidance, coaching, and professional development. CTG internships follow the 702010 learning model : 70% on-the-job learning: Shadowing colleagues, working with real data, and contributing to client reports and operational outputs. 20% learning from others: Supported by a dedicated supervisor and mentor, and collaborating with colleagues across HQ and field teams. 10% formal learning: Onboarding sessions, in-house training, and access to CTGs Kaya online learning platform. About the Role The Knowledge Hub Intern will support the development, management, and promotion of CTGs centralised knowledge hub on SharePoint . This hub brings together innovations, achievements, lessons learned, country profiles, news from the field, operational insights, and media ensuring valuable organisational knowledge is easy to access and actively used. The role offers high visibility and cross-functional exposure, supporting marketing, communications, bids, client reports, and operational decision-making . The intern will report to the Head of Content and collaborate closely with stakeholders across the organisation. Key Responsibilities Responsibilities will expand as the intern gains experience and may include: Developing and implementing a clear taxonomy and structure for the SharePoint knowledge hub. Acting as a hub coordinator , including training colleagues, briefing subject matter experts, and encouraging SPOCs to maintain content. Proactively engaging with HQ, Creative, and field teams to ensure regular content contributions and active use of the hub. Curating content by reviewing submissions, ensuring relevance, updating outdated information, and maintaining quality standards. Producing weekly summaries highlighting new content, innovations, and key updates. Supporting bids, client reports, and operational documentation by identifying and providing relevant knowledge hub content. Collaborating with Communications and Marketing teams to integrate hub content into briefings, newsletters, and campaigns. Exploring and recommending AI tools or other technologies to provide real-time insights and improve knowledge accessibility. Supporting reporting on hub usage, engagement, and content trends . What You Will Learn By the end of the internship, you will have gained: Practical experience in building and managing a centralised knowledge hub , including taxonomy design, content curation, and quality control. Hands-on experience working with multiple stakeholders across HQ, field teams, SMEs, and client-facing functions. Skills in summarising, presenting, and communicating insights for internal briefings, bids, client reports, and marketing materials. Exposure to SharePoint, AI tools, and digital platforms that support knowledge sharing and data-driven decision-making. Required Qualifications (Essential) Recent graduate (within the past year) or final-year student in Library and Information Studies, Information Science, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence , or a related field. Must be based in Cape Town, South Africa and legally eligible to work from South Africa for the duration of the internship. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English . Analytical, detail-oriented, and able to translate information into actionable insights. Proactive, adaptable, and confident engaging with diverse stakeholders. Desirable Experience Familiarity with knowledge management systems, SharePoint, or information management platforms . Interest in AI tools, digital innovation, or data analytics . Academic or practical exposure to communications, reporting, research, or content management. Interest in the humanitarian and development sector .
