About the Role
The purpose of the Organisational Safety Business Partner role is to ensure that Empact Group Southern Africa’s compliance with health and safety regulations, promoting a safe and healthy work environment for all employees in the Cape Town region.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct safety inspections and audits on a frequent and regular basis.
- Compile risk assessments annually.
- Conduct regular Fire Prevention inspections.
- Ensure all safety signs and notices are prominently displayed at all sites.
- Ensure machinery is in good working order and maintained in accordance to OHS requirements.
- Maintain good housekeeping principles at all sites.
- Conduct monthly inspections.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements (OHS Act, Municipal By-laws, etc.).
- Manage and coordinate administration related to Health and Safety.
- Submit and maintain IOD claims.
- Compile monthly Occupational Health and Safety reports.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures at all sites.
- Maintain site emergency evacuation plans.
- Maintain the accident and incident investigation programme.
- Ensure sound maintenance of Occupational Health and Safety records at all sites.
Requirements
- Education Grade 12 or equivalent qualification in Health and Safety.
- Health and Safety Tertiary qualification is preferred.
- SAMTRAC Qualification is advantageous.
- Environmental law (14001) and OHS (45001) is ideal.
